Treatment of chronic, non-healing wounds is available at Ingalls on an outpatient basis or through home care and offers a variety of therapies for the treatment of chronic, non-healing wounds. Highly trained wound care therapists offer the most current treatment options, including pulsed lavage, mist therapy and whirlpool, as well as a wide range of wound dressings and excisional debridement. Intervention consists of an evaluation and treatment, as well as patient education relating to dressing changes, wound care management and prevention, foot care and skin care. Wound care is available at the main hospital in Harvey, through Ingalls Home Care or at the Ingalls Family Care Centers in Calumet City, Flossmoor and Tinley Park.
