Back and neck pain sufferers choose Ingalls Spine Center for a lot of reasons. Here, you will find a group of nationally renowned experts – orthopedic spine surgeons, neurosurgeons, nurses, physiatrists and pain management specialists – dedicated to treating only spine disorders. In fact, we do more spine procedures than any other hospital in Chicago's south suburbs.

Ingalls Spine Center is a place where experts share ideas and work together to provide the best possible treatment. And it's a place where doctors and nurses emphasize your health, well-being and outcome. This comprehensive approach means you can expect leading-edge treatment and better results. At Ingalls, you have access to the same advanced spine procedures that typically are found only at university hospitals and research centers – without the inconvenience of travel.

At Ingalls Spine Center, ours is a comprehensive approach – one that combines technology and specialized expertise with patient education, physical therapy, pain management, surgery and rehabilitation. What's more, Ingalls Spine Center is fully equipped with the most advanced surgical suites and newly renovated private rooms.

Diagnoses applicable for treatment at Ingalls Spine Center include disorders of the neck, spine, discs, vertebrae, nerves and spinal cord.

World-class care
Our physicians offer the most advanced treatment techniques available and perform surgery only when all other measures fail. Since 2001, U.S. News & World Report has named Ingalls among the top hospitals in the nation for excellence in neurology and neurosurgery, of which spine plays an important role. This distinction makes Ingalls one of the few community-based programs in the nation to be ranked with such institutions as Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic and UCLA Medical Center.

Inpatient experience
The Ingalls Spine Center offers a dedicated unit, nursing staff, health professionals and management. Through the latest technology, our team is able to provide the best care available all the way through rehabilitation. The following are some examples of the advanced inpatient care provided to our patients:

  • Intra-operative monitoring - Ingalls was one of the first hospitals in the Chicago area to develop this comprehensive program to enhance patient safety by monitoring neural activity during surgery to prevent injury.
  • Pre-surgical educational sessions - Our spine patients attend Spine School, an educational session before they are admitted, enabling them to ask questions, practice exercises and learn about equipment that they may utilize during recuperation.

Spine nurse navigators
Our highly skilled spine nurse navigators represent a vital link between you and a whole team of experts assembled for your care, including doctors, surgeons and therapists. They work with you to coordinate doctors’ appointments, testing, surgery and therapy.
